Sotheby's canceled a London auction Set for Sep 18 after Alisher Usmanov, a Russian tycoon paid about 25 percent more than the estimated price for the art collection of the late cellist Mstislav Rostropovich. A government agency "presented some guarantees to Sotheby's that this transaction would be in the interest of the Russian Federation."
