In India Samdup Taso (83), the last Lepcha priest in Sikkim, died. This left the Lepchas without a spiritual leader to offer prayers to Kanchenjunga, the world's third-highest mountain, which is revered as Sikkim's guardian deity. Links: India, Sikkim ![]() |
