In San Francisco detective Tim Riordan arrested Jolly Trixie, aka Miss Kitty Plunkett, for allegedly violating the Penal Code. She was accused of being deformed and exhibiting her deformity in a Fillmore Street show house. In Brazil a 2-year-old boy with 42 sewing needles stuck in him was airlifted to another hospital in northeastern Bahia state because two of the needles were close to his heart. A police official said Roberto Carlos Magalhaes, the boy's stepfather, had been arrested, that he had confessed to sticking the needles into the boy with the help of a woman and that authorities were investigating whether black magic was involved. Mozambique state radio said a court in has sentenced two men to 20 years in prison each for mutilating a 12-year-old boy and trying to sell his body parts to a witchdoctor. The report said the two men, the boy's uncle and another, held the boy down, cut out his eyes and removed his genitals, intending to sell them to a Malawian witchdoctor. The boy survived. Zimbabwe police arrested three alleged sperm-hunting women, found with a plastic bag of 31 used condoms. They were nabbed for allegedly violating 17 men. Reports of sperm hunters first surfaced in the local press in 2009. Sperm-hunting charges against the women were dropped in May, 2012, but the state decided to prosecute two of the women on a lesser charge of "loitering for the purposes of prostitution", punishable by a fine.
