Europe's top court ruled that data stored on US servers is potentially unsafe because of government spying, a blow to companies such as Facebook that might need to change the way they handle private data from the region. The European Court of Justice (ECJ) struck down the “safe-harbor” privacy pact between the European Union and America. It was originally signed in 2000 to bridge cultural and political differences regarding online privacy.
