The Equatorial Guinea mainland is located in the northwest corner of Gabon, just below Cameroon. An island section is located off the coast of Cameroon. Population in 2005 was estimated to be about 535,800. The area is 28,050 square kilometers (10,831 square miles), about the size of Maryland.
